Inc. Magazine Names Tatari a Best Workplace for the 3rd Year in a Row

Tatari has been named one of Inc. Magazine’s Best Workplaces for 2022 out of 3,000+ submissions. We are honored to be recognized for our culture, employee engagement, and benefit offerings. In order to be considered for this award, Tatari employees took part in a survey conducted by Quantum Workplace that focused on a variety of topics, some of which were: trust, management effectiveness, perks, and confidence in the future.

Can you believe it’s been over two years since we started working from home?!

A lot has changed at Tatari since the onset of the pandemic. We’ve 5x’ed our workforce, adding a plethora of new employees across all departments. We acquired TheViewPoint, a CTV monetization platform that fits our long-term vision for a clean and more direct CTV supply path for outcome-driven TV advertisers. And above all, we’ve learned to be nimble with the demands of balancing business and culture during the pandemic.

The success this company has had during one of the most challenging times in recent memory gives me so much hope—and excitement—for what’s on the horizon.

But before thinking too far ahead, it’s important to take a look back at some of the things that make Tatari such a great place to work. Over the past few months, in-person events are starting to take shape, and the collaboration has been in full effect. Most recently, the NYC office welcomed our new employees from TheViewPoint, the SF office hosted a friendly Mario Cart competition, and LA organized an afternoon volleyball meet-up.

And let’s not forget the Bonanza, our annual all-hands event this past April in Newport Beach, California. With 200+ in attendance, this was an opportunity for so many Tatarians to meet each other for the first time, and for some of the “old timers” to reconnect. The jam-packed, 48-hour Bonanza started with department team-building events. Media Buying, Client Services, and Marketing jointly held a poolside party, Engineering participated in a fun scavenger hunt, Data Science worked their way out of an escape room, and the BizOps team opted for a yoga class.

We also did some amazing volunteer work and partnered with Firefly Events for an afternoon collaboration with Exposure Skate. Native to San Diego and founded by professional skateboarder Amelia Brodka, Exposure Skate uses skateboarding to address the issue of lack of access and inclusion for women, trans, and non-binary individuals within skateboarding, and in turn, action sports. They aim to take the empowerment that is inherent in action sports and apply it to all areas of life to consistently grow, develop, and lead healthy lifestyles. During the volunteer event, we split Tatarians into 20+ teams, with each building and designing two skateboards to donate to the organization.

We closed out the Bonanza with a final dinner, including a photo booth that has too many photos to keep count. A big shoutout goes to our very own Tatarian DJs consisting of Henry (Staff Data Eng), Luyao (UX Designer), and Ray (Solutions Engineer) for keeping the entertainment alive throughout the evening.

While we have all adapted to remote work (and very productively, might I add), for me, there are some things that cannot be duplicated virtually—a room full of energy, laughing together, simple eye contact showing an unexplainable depth of understanding, a hug, impromptu conversations that lead to great ideas, just to name a few. All of these, and more, I saw at the Bonanza. It reminds me, again and again, that a company is made by its employees and that this award, along with the others, belongs to all Tatarians. And it gives me tremendous hope as we prepare ourselves to head back to the office and achieve more amazing things, together, in person.
